The communities of Boston Heights, Hudson, Northfield Center Township and Macedonia have joined together as the Brandywine Creek Watershed Partnership to work together on shared issues of storm water management and watershed stewardship, and to further the creation of a watershed management plan.

The partnership is supported by a working group that includes the Cuyahoga River RAP, Ohio EPA, Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Summit County Engineers, Summit Soil and Water Conservation District, Summit County Planning and others with the ability to help the communities fashion stewardship programs.

The working group has been meeting since early 2007, and its current work focuses on developing statutory and community actions that can reduce the burden of storm water on streams and wetlands. Strategies under study include identifying and revising existing ordinances that can improve diversion and on-site storage of storm water (rain barrels, rain gardens, retention basins, wetlands), or expand the use of permeable paving surfaces.
