LIFE ON LAKE ERIE PHOTO CONTEST - ENTRIES DUE JULY 11!

The Ohio Lake Erie Commission's 2008 photo contest is now underway and open to amateur photographers taking snapshots in and around the Lake Erie watershed. This year's competition has no specific subject categories and can depict a person, plant, wildlife, activity or scene that captures the unique character of the region.

Deadline: July 11, 2008 (see form for details). 2008 photo contest entry form and rules are here!

Friends of Yellow Creek is giving away a rain garden
to an eligible resident within the Yellow Creek watershed.
The Yellow Creek watershed includes parts of Bath, Copley, Granger, Richfield and Sharon Townships, cities of Akron, Fairlawn, and Cuyahoga Falls and the Village of Richfield.

Visit yellowcreekwatershed.org to find out if your property is within the boundaries of the watershed and for the contest guidelines and forms.

WETLANDS ASSESSMENT REPORT
Increasing urbanization continues to degrade or eliminate wetlands. This study was undertaken to find out exactly where and how many of these natural storm water storage, water filtration and biohabitat features are left, and to evaluate their quality and ability to function.

is host to the Cuyahoga River Remedial Action Plan (RAP) and
the Cuyahoga American Heritage River Initiative.

We work with partners, stakeholders and communities
in five Northeast Ohio counties to restore and revitalize the
Cuyahoga River Watershed and Areas Of Concern, and
to improve water quality in the watershed and Lake Erie.
